We went to eat last night at Intermezzo del Bosque. It’s got the best view of Managua of any restaurant I have been to. Also, it’s delightfully fresh and cool because it’s at the top of the small mountains that border Managua to the West. The exact address is: from the Colegio Centro Ámerica, 5 km. to the south. Best to go in your own vehicle.
I had a fillet tip with an onion, white cream and jalapeño sauce. It was served with mashed potatoes and fresh sautéed veggies. The dinner salad was romaine lettuce and other fresh vegetables with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The bread was typical but served with a delicious garlic butter. (C$260 – $13)
To drink, I had some of their homemade sangrita with tequila on the side. (C$60 – $3 per shot)
The best option I saw at the table tonight was a coconut shrimp and breaded shrimp combo. There were 7 good sized shrimp on the plate ($C330 – $16.50).
Sorry I don’t have pictures of the food…they didn’t come out well in the candlelight dining atmosphere.
The first time I went here was November 20, 1999 with my girlfriend (now my wife). We had a pre-wedding dinner their too. I guess we will be heading up there for our anniversary too! A great place!
Fuimos a comer anoche en Intermezzo del Bosque. Tiene el mejor vistazo de Managua (hasta donde yo he encontrado). También tiene un clima rico y fresco porque está encima de las colinas occidentales de Managua. La dirección exacta es: del Colegio Centro Ámerica 5 km. al sur. Es mejor ir en vehículo propio.
Comí punta jalapeña. Viene acompañada con puré de papas y verduras cocidas. Antes, sirven una ensalada de lechuga y verduras con un aderezo de frambuesa y vinagre. El pan era corriente pero con una deliciosa mantequilla con ajo (C$260 -$13).
Para tomar, tequila con sangrita de casa (C$60 – $3 por trago).
La mejor opción, en mi opinión, es el plato de camarón al coco y empanizado. Había 7 camarones grandes en el plato ($C330 – $16.50).
Lamento no incluir fotos de la comida…no salieron muy bien en la luz tenue del lugar.
La primera vez que vine a comer aquí fue 20 de Noviembre de 1999 con mi novia (ahora mi esposa). También tuvimos una cena pre-boda allí. Creo que vamos por nuestro aniversario también! Es un lugar muy singular!
Welcome to the Yon Niy Ta Chinese restaurant in Granada. ’twasn’t bad food but definitely not even in the same league as say…The Great Wall in Bloomington, Illinois. That is some good Chinese food. But, we are in Granada so, being objective, it’s an ok alternative to the food fare in town. It’s cheap – the chop suey cost about $C80 ($4.00) and the shrimp cost $C120 ($6.00).
