Survivor: Nicaragua is the 21st season of the popular reality TV show Survivor. It aired on CBS in the United States from September 15, 2010, to December 19, 2010. The season was filmed in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, and featured 20 contestants competing for the grand prize of $1 million.
The season was divided into two tribes: Espada, consisting of contestants over the age of 40, and La Flor, consisting of contestants under the age of 30. The tribes were eventually merged into one, called Libertad.
The season was notable for its many twists and turns, including the introduction of the Medallion of Power, which gave the tribe that possessed it an advantage in challenges, and the introduction of the hidden Immunity Idol, which allowed a contestant to negate any votes cast against them at Tribal Council.
The season was won by Jud “Fabio” Birza, a 21-year-old model from California, who defeated Chase Rice and Matthew “Sash” Lenahan in the final Tribal Council. Birza was praised for his strategic gameplay and likable personality throughout the season.
