We had a nice little supper yesterday, fried pork rinds (with a bit of meat on them) and a tomato, onion, and lime juice salad. The greasy pork rinds wonders were washed down with some ice-cold Pepsi. This is a typical process in Nicaragua (in particular we were in El Valle de la Laguna, Masaya). And to paraphrase the Nicaraguans: “Have no fear, it’s just once a year.”
Cenamos anoche estos chicharrones (con carnita pegada, por supuesto) y ensalada de tomate y cebolla. Estas maravillas se enjuagaron con una Pepsi bien helada. Claro, esta cena es típica en Nicaragua (la comimos en El Valle de La Laguna, Masaya). Y como reza el dicho: “Una vez al año no hace daño.”
